ANZAC DAY SERVICE 2021

  • Oakleigh/Carnegie RSL Club 95-97 Drummond Street Oakleigh, VIC, 3166 Australia (map)

The Oakleigh Carnegie RSL Sub Branch will hold an ANZAC Commemorative Service in the Memorial Hall, 95 - 97 Drummond Street Oakleigh from 10.30am on Sunday 25th April 2021.

The Service is registered under the CovidSafe public events register and is a ticketed event. To obtain a seat or seats in the Memorial Hall for this important commemoration, please email secretary@ocrsl.com.au

The service will be attended by community leaders, schools, local organisations, guides, scouts, RSL members and our community, along with the Australian Great War Association, Moorabin Pipe Band and Oakleigh Brass.

Doug Pendergast, President Oakleigh Carnegie RSL, said that ANZAC Day is our most important commemorative service and along with many other communities throughout Australia on the 25th April we will gather to remember and honour those who have served to defend Australia, and our service men and women who continue to serve our nation.

“Our RSL has a long and proud history in this area with the Sub Branch awarded its Charter in 1919 and our building opened in 1922.”

“Our committee and members have worked hard over a number of years to ensure the legacy bequeathed to us by Oakleigh men and women who served in WW1, our building and our support for veterans, continues.”

“Our Memorial Hall has been fully renovated and a new Mural depicting our service men and women from WW1 to the present day is now an important feature, along with the Great War Roll of Honour which has been in our foyer since 1922.”

“I encourage our broader community to contact the club and be a part of our ANZAC 2021 Commemorative Service.”
