We Will Remember Them - Remembrance Sunday Service

The Oakleigh Carnegie RSL Sub Branch will hold a Remembrance Sunday Commemorative Service from 10.30 am at the Cenotaph, Cnr Drummond St and Atherton Rd Oakleigh.

As Remembrance Day itself (11th November) is not a public holiday, the Oakleigh Carnegie RSL Sub Branch will hold this community commemorative service on Sunday 10th November to ensure that RSL members and the broader community can join together to acknowledge the signing of the Armistice which ended WW1 on 11/11/1918. The commemorative service also provides the opportunity to honour and remember those who served our nation, not only in WW1, but in all conflicts and peace keeping events since that time. We also honour those who continue to serve.

The Commemorative Service will involve local State and Federal MPs, Monash and Glen Eira Council Mayors, local schools, scouts, guides and local community organisations.

The service will also include Oakleigh Brass and Moorabin Pipe Band players.

Following the service, refreshments will be served at the club rooms, 95 - 97 Drummond St Oakleigh.

Following the refreshments, Oakleigh Brass will entertain all with a concert to be held in the Memorial Hall.

On Remembrance Day, Monday 11th November, Oakleigh Carnegie RSL President, Doug Pendergast, will conduct a short service at the Cenotaph, from 10.50 am.
