ANZAC 2024 - Dawn Service

Oakleigh Carnegie RSL Sub Branch ANZAC Day 2024 was very successful commencing with a Dawn Service at the Cenotaph in Warrawee Park.

The service was led by President, Dan Cairnes, who welcomed the large crowd. He said that he was particularly pleased that each year we are able to connect with more of our local schools, scouts, sporting and community organisations which continues the Oakleigh Carnegie RSL’s commitment to grow knowledge of our most important commemorative day of the year,

In particular he thanked the many people and organisations who assisted with the day.

He said that the Dawn Service provided us an opportunity to reflect on, and honour, ordinary Australian men and women who were, and continue to be prepared to make personal sacrifices for the freedom and quality of life we enjoy today.

“By standing together quietly, we reflect and say that we have not forgotten – and will not forget.”

“We will remember them. “

Lest We Forget
