We Wish all a Merry Christmas

The Oakleigh Carnegie RSL Sub Branch Committee wishes all club members and our community a very happy Christmas 2019.

Club President, Doug Pendergast, said that as we approach the festive season and the end of the year, he wishes to thank all those who have supported the club this year.

“We have had many volunteers, both club members, children and young adults from schools and community organisations, as well as Monash Council and our local police and fire brigade members who have assisted with our Commemoration Services on ANZAC Day and Remembrance Sunday, and these important services could not go ahead without the valuable assistance and support that we have been given.”

“We have ended the year having completed further upgrades to our building thanks to the Victorian State Government Veterans Affairs grant program, with the upgrades contributing to our growth as an RSL Sub Branch, a community club and a venue for live music through Oakleigh Lounge.”

“At this important time of the year especially for families, it is my pleasure to wish all a safe and happy festive season and a healthy and happy new year.”

“We also take a moment to pause and think of those who are facing great difficulties with fires and extreme weather conditions, particularly fire fighters who are on the front line and for so many volunteering in dangerous and very difficult conditions.”

“We all hope they stay safe and are able to spend some time with their families and friends over the festive season.”
