Former Army Reservists with overseas operation experience needed for study

Researchers from Swinburne University of Technology are conducting a study into employment challenges faced by Army Reservists transitioning back into the civilian workforce after completing overseas operation duty.

Participants will be asked to attend a one-hour one-on-one interview that will focus on experiences in transitioning from overseas deployment back into the civilian workforce.

Results from this study will help researchers develop a better understanding of the transition challenges faced by reservists who have served overseas on full-time duty.

The ethical aspects of this research have been approved by both the Departments of Defence and Veterans’ Affairs Human Research Ethics Committee and the Swinburne University of Technology Human Research Ethics Committee.

Swinburne would like to hear from currently serving or former Army Reserve personnel who:

  • Have served overseas on operation duty as a reservist

  • Are between the ages of 21 and 55 years

  • Have been in the civilian workforce in any capacity (contract, casual, part-time, full-time) for at least three years

  • Residing in Victoria and willing to volunteer for a one-hour private interview in the Melbourne CBD or at RSL Sub Branch near where you live or work.
